Avita Team Members “Share the Love” with Patients Nationwide

Avita team members are cheering for patients on their individual health and wellness journeys. This was the universal theme behind Avita’s “Share the Love” card campaign hosted by its Pride Employee Resource Group.

Everyone matters, and the Avita team ensures patients know this by cheering for them on their unique health and wellness journeys.

This was the universal theme behind Avita’s “Share the Love” card campaign, hosted this February by its Pride Employee Resource Group (ERG). The ERG, which was created to cultivate a safe and diverse environment where all Avita team members can be their authentic selves, invited team members to write notes of support to patients. The cards were then delivered to individuals at pharmacy locations nationwide beginning on (natch) Valentine’s Day.

“The campaign showcases Avita’s commitment to personalized, compassionate patient care,” says Avita Chief Advocacy Officer and Pride ERG Executive Sponsor Glen Pietrandoni. “Small acts–like sharing kind words–help foster a sense of community and belonging among our team members and patients, which is one of our Avita Pride ERG objectives.”

Team members across Avita Care Solutions’ brand pillars, including Avita Pharmacy, Avita Care Atlanta, and Q Care Plus, jumped at the opportunity to show patients how much they are heard, seen, and valued. “This campaign is important for our patients because it fosters a sense of comfort and connection,” says Allison Roberts, a talent acquisition coordinator at Avita Care Solutions. “It’s a reminder that they’re not just receiving care from Avita, they’re supported and valued throughout their entire journey. I was so excited to participate because it emphasizes the power of empathy and human connection in healthcare.”

Sharing the love at pharmacies and through the mail

Select Avita Pharmacy locations nationwide crafted their own “Share the Love mailboxes” as onsite distribution centers for the cards or mailed them to patients receiving free at-home prescription delivery.

“The ‘Share the Love’ campaign provided our pharmacies with an additional opportunity to show our patients how compassionate and caring we are as a team,” says Matthew Aguilera, a pharmacist-in-charge at Avita’s onsite pharmacy at Kind Clinic in San Antonio, Texas. “The cards have been well received by our patients. Some have even come back in to comment on how nice the cards have made them feel!”

“Our team was inspired and wanted to participate because if we uplift and take care of our patients, everything else will follow,” explains Kara Maryansky, pharmacist-in-charge at the Avita Pharmacy in Salisbury, North Carolina. “This is especially true when working with a community that faces so much hate and discrimination. We need to show them love and compassion.”

"Our patients are cared for, and we love what we do.”

Avita and its legacy companies share a 50-year tradition of offering community outreach and advocacy on behalf of historically underserved populations, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, individuals based in rural areas, and people living with HIV. Avita’s more than 600 team members are united by the organization’s core values of compassion, collaboration, and resourcefulness.

“I love the community outreach Avita does,” says Avita Patient Receivable Supervisor Kara Mahoney. “It’s important that our patients know they are cared for and that we love what we do!”

AvitaCare Atlanta Laboratory Assistant Michael Teal couldn’t agree more. “Know that you are seen, you are strong, you are valued, you are enough, and you are loved,” his card read. Michael explains, “I was excited to participate because I like making others feel happy and that they are seen for who they are.”
