PLANO, TEXAS (January 7, 2025) — For the fourth year in a row, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation (HRCF) has awarded national healthcare and pharmacy services organization Avita Care Solutions a score of 100 on its Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices that support LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion.

Now in its 22nd year, the 2025 CEI rated companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
  • Supporting an inclusive culture, and
  • Corporate social responsibility

This year’s survey engaged over 1,449 employers, including Fortune magazine’s 500 largest publicly traded businesses, American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 revenue-grossing law firms, and hundreds of publicly and privately held mid- to large-sized businesses. However, only 52.8% of the companies engaged, including Avita, received the Equality 100 Award for scoring 100% on the index.

A legacy of dedication to compassionate care for all

With more than 600 employees across the United States, Avita Care Solutions is committed to promoting health equities by providing comprehensive, compassionate, and inclusive healthcare and pharmacy services to underserved communities. For more than 50 years, Avita and its legacy brands have strived to ensure that members of the LGBTQ+ community—team members, patients, and covered entity partners alike—feel seen, heard, and respected.

Avita CEO Michael Yount says the organization has built the cultural tenets of compassion, acceptance, and inclusion into the very framework of its core values and business model. “At Avita, our internal rally cry is ‘Be the Care,’” he says. “That means treating all our team members and those we serve with dignity, respect, and personalized consideration, no matter how they identify or whom they choose to love.”

He emphasized that Avita’s LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion policies continuously evolve in response to team member feedback and lessons learned on the front lines of providing comprehensive care. “Our commitment to workplace equality is essential because it’s the right thing to do,” he says. “For our team members, our organization, and the future of our mission.”

HRCF President Kelley Robinson acknowledged that corporate LGBTQ+ equality programs are a win-win for employers and employees and are typically carefully built over time. “More companies than ever before are dedicating the time and resources to reinforcing workplace inclusion,” she says. “As a result, they are more competitive and more creative while attracting and retaining top talent and widening their consumer base. At its core, the work of the CEI is about understanding, commitment, and compassion—it doesn’t happen overnight.”
